It seems as if some parents in SoCal are very upset by the idea that Mandarin may be taught in their schools. According to them, learning about China and Chinese culture will brainwash them and the "Enemy" will turn their kids into little Maoists. Check out this funny clip from the Daily Show:
Jeff and I on the other hand are excited by the idea that Mandarin immersion classes are popping up in schools all over California. The City of Davis also offers a Mandarin playgroup that we definitely want Elliot to be a part of when he is old enough.
